Do Seasonal Toys Need Year-Round Coverage?

Utah is a state that experiences all four seasons, (sometimes all of them in one weekend!)

That means that some of your favorite toys might regularly see back-to-back months where they aren’t in use. Those are the times that have you wondering if you really need to keep them insured throughout the entire year.

Is it possible to only pay for insurance for the months of use? Yes.

This is where it is beneficial to you to have a relationship with your insurance agent.

A simple e-mail to us that you are putting your boat, snow mobile, etc away for the season, and we can take care of the rest for you. Conversely, another simple e-mail to us that the weather looks good enough to go and play, and we can initiate a policy to cover you.

How off Is the Off Season?

Most of the time seasonal coverage will save you money on your premiums, but you need to be sure that the off season is actual down time. Here’s the question: how often are you tempted to take the boat out during the colder months? If the answer isn’t an absolute zero, then seasonal coverage might not be your best option. Once the coverage is pulled, you will not be able to make a claim if you take your toy out for an off-season adventure.

Does it go in Storage?

This is another important consideration. If your boat stays on a dock all winter, or your snowmobile is out back underneath a tarp, but is still exposed to the elements, you will probably want some type of coverage for the potential risk during storage.

Your toy coverage necessities are subject to personal preference and lifestyle choices. We would be happy to talk to you about your best options for coverage.
